Yeah, I admit it -- I'm only reading this now. I have some catching up to do...but in this case, it doesn't seem to matter, because your piece is pretty much timeless (at least until Mashiach comes??)

Simple, clear and all-too-true. Nice work.

Ilan, After 19 years of living in Israel, and never regretting it for one second, I had a very hard day today. The war, the funerals, the unending Katushyas....mid-morning I crawled back into bed and had a good cry. I then went to the Pina Chama with a friend in from the States, Rita Lewy, who you know - one of the more upbeat people that I have ever met and served coffee and cake to tired, wonderful chayalim. I then came home and read your beautiful, and true essay. Perfect timing, perfect words, and we anxiously await meeting your flight at 6:30 A.M.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! next week. You will continue in the process of making a Israel a better place. You will be in Eretz Ha'avot, and my prayer is that you will be rejoicing with your family (Israel), and that Hakadosh baruch Hu will guide our leaders, our chayalim and change yagon to simcha. Thank you, Ilan, Judy Eisenstock
